On the weekend of August 7-8, Twin B’s Slo-Pitch is hosting a
tournament in from which all profits will be handed over to
Prostate Cancer Canada.
Years ago, Twin B’s became involved in organizing the Pine and
Rose Mixed Slo-Pitch tournament. That tournament evolved into
the BOSSS tournament.
Over the years, the tournament has had a charity in mind when it
came to dispersing the profits. The greatest supporters of
these efforts have been the Bramslammers, Brampton Madoc
Softball, Central Park Mixed Slo-Pitch and Twin B’s. In the
past, as far as charities go, the greatest benefactor has been
Ontario Special Olympics. The Bramslammers were clearly the
winners as far as what was handed over to charity.
Although Twin B’s has kept BOSSS alive, it has been pretty much
a league tournament, operated at cost with little or nothing
left for charity. This year, Twin B’s hopes to return the BOSSS
to its prominence as a charitable event.
This year’s tournament will be open to Coed, Men's and Men's
Masters. Although most of the players are a long way from
worrying about prostate cancer, some are of age. For the
younger players and the female players in mixed, it was felt
that they would all know someone who has been or could be
afflicted by ‘prostate’.
We need your help. We need your support. We need you to
participate. The entry fees collected from this tournament will
be split between operation costs and Prostate Cancer Canada.
Join us and participate in
the 29th Annual BOSSS Tournament and support Prostate Cancer
Canada.
